Day 1: Friday April 19, 2024 - Departure from the USA Get ready for an exciting adventure as you depart from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and embark on your journey to the United Kingdom.
Day 2: Saturday April 20, 2024 – Discover Liverpool's Cultural Riches! Welcome to England (Manchester Airport). Upon arrival, proceed through customs and collect your luggage. A Jet Vacations professional guide will personally greet you. Upon arrival in the UK, you'll be greeted in Manchester your knowledgeable guide, and together you'll board a modern motor-coach. As you travel to Liverpool city center, soak in the vibrant atmosphere and get ready to explore the cultural gems of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Liverpool is renowned for its rich heritage and contribution to the world of music. Experience a panoramic tour of the city, taking in iconic landmarks such as the majestic Philharmonic Hall, home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the oldest professional symphony orchestra in the UK. Drive past the magnificent Royal Albert Dock, housing the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the country. Day 3 Sunday April 21, 2024 – Explore Liverpool, make chocolate and Discover Chester's Roman History: After breakfast at the hotel, begin your day with a visit to The Beatles Story, an award-winning exhibition dedicated to the legendary band. Dive into the fascinating journey of Paul, John, George, and Ringo, learning how they transformed from ordinary boys from Liverpool to global superstars. Immerse yourself in their story and marvel at the impressive memorabilia, including an underwater trip on the iconic Yellow Submarine. ADDED ATTRACTION: Next, take part in a chocolate making workshop.
Chocolate making workshop begins with a talk about how chocolate makes it from the bean to the bar, followed by a practical session where we demonstrate various techniques before giving you the chance to create your own masterpieces. Following a chocolate quiz, everybody gets the chance to hand-wrap their creations to take home. In the afternoon, travel to the nearby city of Chester, known for its Roman heritage. Embark on a captivating Roman Soldier walking tour, where you'll explore the well-preserved remnants of Chester's Roman past. Absorb the history and imagine the lives of soldiers who once walked these streets. Return to Liverpool for a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel. (Breakfast)
Day 4 Monday April 22, 2024 – Discover the Charms of Wales: After breakfast at the hotel, Today, enjoy a full-day excursion to Wales. First, visit Llandudno. Experience a ride on the Great Orme Tramway. The Great Orme Tramway is Britain’s only funicular, or cable-hauled, tramway that travels on public roads. Delighting visitors since it opened in 1902. The Tramway climbs a mile (1500m) through the Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the Great Orme’s spectacular summit. Re-live the experience of travel more than 100 years ago in the lovingly restored original tramcars, each named after a Saint. Enjoy some free time for independent lunch in Conwy. Conwy is a town rich in history, which much of it still preserved within the walls and traditional structures of its buildings. In the heart of it is the mighty 13th-century castle, whose walls encapsulate this remarkable medieval town. Surrounded by lush Welsh countryside and watched over by the mighty mountains of Snowdonia, it’s a most beautiful place to visit. Next, visit Penrhyn Castle & Garden. The dominating stone façade of Penrhyn Castle hides more than just its internal red-brick construction. The unique architecture, opulent interiors and fine art collection sit alongside a history of sugar and slate fortunes, of social unrest and the longest-running industrial dispute in British history. Discover Penrhyn’s history, its vast rooms, neo-Norman stairways and Victorian kitchens. Distilling (mostly illegal) was taking place here long before the skills of crop rotation were known; in 1777 Edinburgh housed perhaps four hundred illicit distilleries. When the law was changed to permit smaller licensed distilleries, many farmers took out licenses. By the time Glenkinchie was founded in 1837, 115 licensed distilleries were recorded in the Lowlands, though their products would probably not pass muster today!
