Take a journey through the stunning landscape of Iceland‘s south coast. This is the land of Njál‘s Saga – a region of breathtaking scenery and legendary stories. During your guided tour you‘ll encounter the wonderful variety of the south: from the wide plains formed by glacial rivers, to the sheer sea cliffs of Dyrhólaey or Reynishverfi, and to  the spectacular waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. In clear weather you’ll experience unforgettable views of the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes and, if the conditions are right, the Westman Islands.  Included is the Lava Centre, an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcanic activity, earthquakes and the creation of Iceland. DAY 4:: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE
If you only take one guided tour while you are in Iceland, then it has to be the Golden Circle. Today we make our way back to Reykjavík via the Golden Circle. Combining natural and historical wonders, you’ll experience Iceland‘s landmark attractions in one incredible day: the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, the spouting hot springs of Geysir, and Þingvellir national park, site of the Viking parliament and over 1000 years of history. The classic tour, not to be missed.  Lunch is on own today at the Geysir area.  In the afternoon, visit the Friðheimar Greenhouse and horse farm. Wonder through the tomato greenhouse and sample a Tomato tasting, as well as an introduction on how the family uses Icelandic nature to cultivate tomatoes: Then get up close and personal and meet the team of Friðheimar horses in the warm and bright stables. Alongside a visit with these friendly creatures and their caretakers, there will be photo opportunities and a demonstration of the famed 5 gaits, unique to the Icelandic Horse. .  Overnight accommodation with breakfast at Centerhotel Miðgarður - Standard Rooms (B)

DAY 5:: OPTIONAL ENCHANTING SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA - Duration: 10 hours.
Known as “Iceland in a Nutshell”, Snæfellsnes Peninsula’s ever-changing landscape contains examples of most land features that can be found in Iceland.  We highly recommend the area for groups who would like to get a very thorough introduction to Iceland in one day. Snæfellsnes was also the setting for some of Iceland’s greatest Sagas. The main attraction is, with no doubt, Snæfellsjökull glacier, a beautifully-shaped  strato-volcano at the very tip of the peninsula. The glacier, along with its surrounding unspoiled natural wonders, is the setting of Jules Verne’s novel Journey to the Centre of the Earth.  Stroll in a unique landscape with a mixture of sandy hills, black lava and yellow beaches in Búðir.  Arnarstapi is perfect for a walk along the sea cliffs, where you can see spectacular columnar rock formations that are home to seabirds (puffins generally in Iceland between mid-May and early August). Then explore Djúpalónssandur’s black-pebbled beach before winding around the scenic peninsula and back towards Reykjavík.  Tonight. the group will enjoy a farewell 3 course dinner in Reykjavík with our guide.  Overnight accommodation at Centerhotel Miðgarður - Standard Rooms . (B, D)
