WELCOME TO CHICAGO

Depart Philadelphia for Chicago and begin your journey through the Great Lakes. Upon arrival, transfer into the heart of downtown and, time permitting, enjoy a guided introduction to the Windy City featuring the Magnificent Mile, Michigan Avenue, Wrigley Building, Millennium Park, the Loop, and beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline. DAY 2 - AUG 26
CHICAGO BY LAND & WATER

Experience Chicago from the water during a narrated cruise along the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, taking in the city’s remarkable architecture and spectacular skyline. Continue with a delicious Ethnic Dine-Around Lunch, enjoying appetizers in Chinatown, an entrée in historic Little Italy, and dessert in lively Greektown. DAY 3 - AUG 27
SAUGATUCK & TRAVERSE CITY

Leave Chicago behind and travel north into Michigan, stopping in the charming lakeside town of Saugatuck. Enjoy time to explore its inviting downtown, waterfront, art galleries, boutiques, and local restaurants before continuing through Michigan’s scenic countryside. Arrive later this afternoon in beautiful Traverse City, nestled along the shores of Grand Traverse Bay. Overnight in Traverse City. (Breakfast, Dinner)


DAY 4 - AUG 28
MACKINAC ISLAND

Journey through northern Michigan to Mackinaw City and board a ferry for the scenic ride across the Straits of Mackinac to enchanting Mackinac Island. With automobiles prohibited, the island’s horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, Victorian architecture, and beautiful waterfront create the feeling of stepping back in time. Check into the legendary Grand Hotel, famous for its timeless elegance and magnificent porch overlooking the Straits. Overnight at the famous Grand Hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 5 - AUG 29
ISLAND BY CARRIAGE

Discover the beauty and history of Mackinac Island during a delightful horse-drawn carriage tour, passing Victorian homes, scenic landscapes, and some of the island’s most celebrated sights. Later, experience one of the island’s great traditions with the famous Grand Hotel Luncheon Buffet. Spend the afternoon exploring downtown, visiting the famous fudge shops, or simply relaxing on the Grand Hotel’s legendary porch. Overnight on Mackinac Island. (Buffet Brunch at the Grand Hotel)


DAY 6 - AUG 30
MACKINAC AT LEISURE

Enjoy a full day to experience Mackinac Island at your own pace, including admission to historic Fort Mackinac, where costumed interpreters share stories of the island’s fascinating military past against spectacular views of the Straits. Spend the remainder of the day discovering shops, gardens, museums, and waterfront paths, or perhaps rent a bicycle for a scenic ride around the island. DAY 7 - AUG 31
RETURN HOME

After breakfast, bid farewell to Mackinac Island and board the ferry back to the mainland. Travel by coach through Michigan to Detroit, where you’ll board your return flight to Philadelphia. Depart with wonderful memories of Chicago’s vibrant city life, Michigan’s beautiful landscapes, and the timeless charm of Mackinac Island. (Breakfast)
